The city was larger than anything Noel had imagined and he was overwhelmed almost at once. Cars of all different colors whizzed around him at the speed of probably light or sound. And they honked their horns, which was the worst part. Noel was used to only seeing one automobile at a time (usually moving much slower than these) and they whizzed around him. The man with the camel had left him all alone and without a map, either. Noel’s shoulders were a little bit discouraged and he pulled his bag into his chest as he walked, no longer in any particular direction.

Pip poked his head out of Noel’s hat. “Hey, we should get somewhere for safe-safe sleeping, huh?”

“Sometimes I wish you would stop singing,” Noel said mournfully. He tugged the cap down over his eyes and Pip shrieked.
